I never know when
I'm going to come upon
The odd ebony being
That rules my home.

The four emerald-eyes
And eight downy legs
Could be underfoot
At any moment.

Mounting its silken web,
It reigns over the
Daddy long legs
From its castle,
Loftily above
The wooded floor.

Scurrying through
My home and my life,
It climbs walls,
Scratches floors,
Leaves fuzz.
I hope it never
Wrecks my blinds!
